Pink moments in Copenhagen | Seeing the cherry blossoms bloom

So many years in a row I have seen people posting about the cherry blossoms, or sakura as the cherry blossoms are also known as, at Bispebjerg Cemetery in Copenhagen but I have never had to chance to see them before this year. So for weeks I couldn’t help but count down to their peak season and last week it finally came. I went there to see them for the first time Friday afternoon last week but it was so crowded that I decided to come back the following Monday morning where I woke up a little before 6am to bike 22 kilometres (to Bispebjerg and home again) just to enjoy these magical flowers for myself. The cherry blossoms are so beautiful but sadly they only bloom for 2-3 weeks so you have to be quick in order to see them bloom. During their peak season around 150.000 people go to see the vibrant flowers at Bispebjerg Cemetery so the place can get really crowded during the day.Read More

And here are some of my favorite finds – some old and some just discovered. For more places in Copenhagen see my first travel guide here.

So if you are going to Copenhagen soon be sure to see some of these places yourself. Some of the places are classics and over-touristy, others are small, hidden gems located outside of the regular tourist spots. So here are my recommendations:
