Located on the black volcanic sand of Perivolos Beach in the southern part of the island of Santorini one finds Istoria Hotel, a 12-suite retreat and mansion. The place is a blend of classic and contemporary aesthetics and has everything you need for a relaxed stay. This blend is caused by the premises originally housing 5 stables where the former owner used to keep her beloved horses. Some of these elements of the original estate are being incorporated into the suites and is part of creating the authentic atmosphere Istoria is known for. This place is truly designed to function as the personal recreative oasis we all need.

The entrance to Istoria Hotel from the restaurant.

Istoria Hotel gives you private access to Perivolos Beach where their lovely employees will come and provide you with cool drinks and nice, soft beach towels.

The king-size bed in the luxurious Tarina Suite where we stayed.

The bathroom that comes with indigenous bath products.

The most comfortable sitting nook overlooking the private pool outside.

The spacious terrace that features a private pool, equipped with double sunbeds and sitting area.

Located on the black sand you find Istoria’s Mr. E Restaurant where the breakfast is made by the well-known chef Alexandros Tsiotinis.

The breakfast at Istoria consists of a huge selection of more than 22 dishes and 16 different drinks to choose from. All made by the former NOMA chef Alexandros. And can I just add, the breakfast surely don’t disappoint!

And if you ever get tired of swimming in your own private pool or in the Aegean Ocean you can find Santorini’s biggest pool in the main area of Istoria Hotel.
Istoria Hotel is one of the most calming and beautiful places I have ever stayed and I cannot recommend staying with them enough. Their staff is so friendly and will do everything they can to make your stay a total dream… And no this post is by no means sponsored by Istoria Hotel, I’m just a very grateful guest.
