The importance of knowing Scripture

Knowing Scripture

So often we will meet lies. They are everywhere. Lies on social media about what a good life is supposed to look like, lies in advertisements about how we need to look a certain way or have a significant other in order to feel and be loved, lies from the enemy of God about who we are and the truth God speaks through the Bible. That is why it is so important to know the truth – to know Scripture. Not only to read it, but to fully know it and have it stored in our hearts and ultimately living it out. We cannot combat lies with a truth we don’t know. As this quote from Christine Caine says so well:

“The truth will set you free, but only the truth that you know.”
Let’s be people who know the truth. The truth that comes from God and God’s word (=the Bible).

Travel itinerary – California, Utah and Arizona

This summer I have been so fortunate to be able to travel all the way here from Denmark to the US for 4 weeks with my family. It has for sure been an amazing time and since me and my family are a really active family who like to spend their holiday doing a little different activities than most other people I thought it might be interesting and even helpful in thoughts of upcoming vacations to share some of the awesome things we did here on my little space on the internet I have come to cherish so much since I started last year.

Reading the Bible regularly is something that is a high priority of mine. Sometimes it can just be so hard to figure where to read and how to read it, because if you just read through a verse or book from beginning to end it can be hard to remember and process what you just read. That’s at least what I have experienced multiple times. And that’s when the Bible can begin to seem irrelevant or boring.

But that can be changed, because ...if there is one thing the Bible isn't, then it's boring. Click To Tweet

The impossible made possible – Easter to me

easter

Here is some of the reasons why I believe with all of my heart that the resurrection took place-not just in a figurative way but very literally:

3 things I learned from taking a break from social media

When 2016 came I decided how could I make the new year start better than taking a break from social media (mainly Twitter and Instagram)? After I having had my IPhone for a little more than two years and using (or more correctly scrolling the newsfeed not wanting to miss out on anything) Twitter and Instagram up til 7 or 8 times a day, I decided it was finally time to take a break from it. Social media had been taking so much of my time and it had especially been taking the time from me I had scheduled to use reading in my Bible and just relaxing.
Instead of being present where I was, I had become so busy being present where I was not-on social media. And I had become so stressed, I did not have enough time to do all the things that really mattered to me.Read More

What I have enjoyed reading recently

receptivity

One of my goals for this year is getting more receptive to the voice of God. Often I have such a hard time just listening to God’s voice, because I am so used to getting things done quickly and if things do not happen in my timing, I will start doing something else. This is what the society tells us all the time. I just want to take time and listen. His voice might sound like a whisper at first, but once you get to know Him and His voice it will be much more clear.Read More
