A day in Amsterdam|Photo diary

a-day-in-amsterdam

Having just been to the lovely city of Amsterdam this week I wanted to show you a glimpse of what I did while I was in the city.

The day started with visiting the botanical garden Hortus Botanicus in Amsterdam. The garden was founded in 1638, which means the garden is one of the oldest of its kind in the world. If I was asked to recommend only one place in Amsterdam this would be that one place. It is so pretty with all its plants-both indoor and outdoor, its butterfly exhibition, greenhouses and many other great things.ย Hortus Botanicus, Amsterdam - livelifefullyalive.com

Later we visited Wildernis, a fancy flower shop, I had been introduced to on Instagram and really wanted to see myself. We went for quite a long walk to get to the place as it is not located in the center of Amsterdam where most of the other things we went to were located. It was great seing the shop for myself, but honestly I don’t think it’s worth the walk since it is so small and there is not much to see inside, at least not in my opinion ๐Ÿ˜‰

Another cute place I can totally recommend visiting is the small cafรฉ Pluk. With its beautiful interior and two stories it is such a dreamy and cozy little place.

And off course you cannot go to Amsterdam without seing the beautiful canals and tall houses the city is oh-so known for. Pictures cannot do this city justice.ย Amsterdam - livelifefullyalive.com

Amsterdam - livelifefullyalive.comHow pretty does the autumn colors look? Couldn’t do anything, but capture those beautiful leaves. There is so much beauty to be found in every season. Maybe the fact that it doesn’t last forever is why I stop up to look at it and ย find it so beautiful?!

  1. I did! Thank you. What a great pictorial trip through Amsterdam. We once went to the Floriades there in May when we were coming home from AFrica for a furlough. Beautiful city.

  2. It has been so long since I’ve been to Amsterdam. Looking over your pictures reminded me of some really fun memories. It looks like you enjoyed your time there as well on some perfect autumn days!

  3. What a beautiful place! I haven’t bee there yet but it is on my bucket list. The botanical garden and the cafe you went to look particularly charming

    1. Thanks girl! No better feeling than when you pictures turn out just as you dreamed. Have been spending a lot of time improving my photography skills lately, so I’m really happy to hear it paid off ๐Ÿ˜‰ For most of the pictures I have used the Canon EOS 600D camera. For the rest I have used my IPhone 5S. For editing I have used Lightroom and VSCO. Hope you found this helpful! Let me know if you have any more questions ๐Ÿ™‚
      Good luck!
