Over the past many months I think we all have seen it.
The Instagram stories and posts that tell that either you’ll be blocked if you don’t agree or you are asked to unfollow if you disagree.
And yes, I understand these posts are usually regarding things, I just as much as you probably, wish we could all agree on. But that’s simply just not always the case. But maybe asking people to leave when they disagree solves nothing. We just distance ourselves further.
Throughout my life I have learned the importance of words. How much death words can bring. And how much life. It all depends on how we use them. I have had many people-friends, family, teachers, mentors, pastors, bloggers-speak words over my life. Words that were full of life that influenced me in ways they will never know. And when I stop for a second and think about it that’s the kind of person I want to be. A person who uses her words to bring life and love. Many practical ways exists to be this person. One of them is through the organization More Love Letters and their campaign #MLL12DAYS. I am beyond excited to be a part of their campaign again this year. It’s a way to show up this season and help people in need by sending love-filled handwritten notes. During December 4th-15th, a letter request will be published every day. Notes will be written and sent off to be bundled up into a (hopefully HUGE) stack for the individual to receive.
Last year (see post here) was a blast so this is something I have been looking forward to for a long time. Read More
So excited November is here and it’s time to dive full on into sweater weather season, hot chocolate and all things fuzzy and cozy. As soon as I heard about the ‘No’vember challenge I knew I wanted to be a part of it too.
In order to say yes to the things that are good for us and align our priorities with God we have to say no to other things and that is exactly what this challenge is about. Making a list of things you are saying no to and writing the things you want to say yes to instead. There really is something powerful in writing things down and holding yourself accountable by doing that instead of just thinking about it!

For me one of most important things when it comes to starting the year right is having a great planner. That’s how I knew I had found THE planner when I stumbled upon the company Horacio Printing and their Heavenly Planner. Not only is it a great planner with place for note and a overview on each month(something I value highly), but the vision behind the planner is amazing. That means the planner also has Bible verses on its pages and pages for heart checks and goal setting. Everything you could ever want all in one planner.
When 2016 came I decided how could I make the new year start better than taking a break from social media (mainly Twitter and Instagram)? After I having had my IPhone for a little more than two years and using (or more correctly scrolling the newsfeed not wanting to miss out on anything) Twitter and Instagram up til 7 or 8 times a day, I decided it was finally time to take a break from it. Social media had been taking so much of my time and it had especially been taking the time from me I had scheduled to use reading in my Bible and just relaxing.
Instead of being present where I was, I had become so busy being present where I was not-on social media. And I had become so stressed, I did not have enough time to do all the things that really mattered to me.Read More
Let’s start this post with one of the really controversial (according to a lot of people) passages in the Bible:
21 Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon.22 A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.”
23 Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.”
24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”
25 The woman came and knelt before him. “Lord, help me!” she said.
26 He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”
27 “Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.”
28 Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.
Today I want to welcome the amazing Brandie Rose Ribeiro to my blog. For those of you who do not know her, Brandie is 19 years old, a bridal intern for the famous designer brand Vera Wang, the designer behind singer and songwriter Moriah Peters’ dress in her new music video for ‘Brave’ and a Christian. She is super inspiring and I am so honored to be able to feature her on my blog today! Hope you will be inspired by this amazing woman of God just like I have been.
