There are more than 27 million people in bondage today around the world. They have no freedom. Another person controls their life completely and the worst thing about it-they can’t just easily escape. In fact 1-2% of the victims are ever rescued. The average age of a victim is 12 years. Most of the victims are children and women. The 27 million people who are in slavery right now are more people than there was ever shipped in the triangle trade.
Why should YOU care? Because these victims are created by God and created to live in the freedom that comes from the blood of Jesus Christ. A person should never be treated as property or as an object. This could have been you or me, if we had been in other circumstances or been poor and desperate for money.
They got no voice. Will you be their voice?
“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedomfor the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.” Isaiah 61:1
The word captives is mentioned about 90 times in the Bible, so it`s something that really matters to God-to see the prisoners free.
Now you know about this increasing problem. What will you do about what you know?
“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” Edmund Burke
“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed.” Proverbs 31:8
How will you help to end this terrible thing called human trafficking?
Some ways you can help:
Pray-there is an incredible power in prayer
Raise awareness-once you know about it, it’s easier to do something!
I’m so so so excited to be able to welcome you to my blog.
Why did I create this blog? I have been writing for many years and 1½ year ago my first book was published. Since then I have written lots of posts for various websites, but I have missed having my own platform to share these posts and thoughts with. So I finally realized that creating a blog might be a solution to this problem. And the mouth speaks, what the heart is full of (Matthew 12:34) and once you have said something you must do it. So here comes my blog 🙂
Who am I? My name is Ida Ploug Pahus. I live in Denmark, Europe. I find myself livinglifefullyalive when I’m writing about the things I’m really passionate about, when I’m taking pictures of God’s beautiful creations and when I’m putting my faith into action and not only words.
3 things you might not know about me:
I speak four languages: Danish, English (or American as I prefer), German and Spanish. And a little bit of Korean.
I have lived in the United States for some time with my family-in Colorado, Wisconsin and most recently in Texas.
I can play on the transverse flute and have been taking flute lessons for more than 12 years now.
What makes you feel like you are livinglifefullyalive? Feel free to share it with the hashtag #livinglifefullyalive, so I can read it.
